Welcome to Paris. Your private driver will be there to welcome you upon arrival to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and provide transfer to your elegant boutique hotel in the posh Saint-Germain neighborhood. It’s surrounded by cafes and restaurants just steps from the popular Rue de Rennes shopping district. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the remainder of the day at your leisure. After taking time to settle in and refresh, you might enjoy a stroll to soak up the enchanting atmosphere of the city, perhaps enjoying a pit of shopping before sitting down for a drink or a delicious meal.

Today you’ll get to explore Paris in depth with your own private guide on a four-hour tour of its many highlights. As Paris is a large city, we’ve included a metro card allowing you to see more of the city in less time. It’s also much quicker than traveling by car. As this is a tour just for you, it can be personalized so that you can see what interests you most, but we’ve included some of the must-see landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Montmartre. If you visit the Sacré Coeur, you can take in a fabulous view overlooking the Louvre and much of the city. Your guide will provide insight along the way and can also offer tips and suggestions for restaurants, shops, attractions, and more.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to visit the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre, then these would need to be booked as separate tours. This tour will only visit them from the outside

This morning, your private driver will take you to the former royal residence of Louis XIV, the Palace of Versailles where your local guide will be waiting for you. Once a simple hunting lodge, built by Louis XIII, it was expanded and transformed into an opulent palace by the Sun King in 1661. The meticulously landscaped and manicured gardens, covering some 800 hectares, are also a must-see and are synonymous with classic French style. With skip-the-line tickets in hand, your guide will escort you through the ornate rooms and the famous Hall of Mirrors until you find yourselves in the gardens to view colorful flower beds, ornamental lakes, and the canal used by the King for gondola rides.

Your private driver will meet you at your hotel today to explore the Normandy beaches, an area famous for its significant role in history from the 11th-century when William the Conqueror set sail for England to 1944 when the Allies stormed the area’s wide stretches of sand. While the beaches are quiet today, during that time the booming sounds of explosions and gunfire were common. Your local guide will meet you at the Caen Memorial where you’ll also have lunch. Then you’ll visit what remains of the artificial harbour at Arromanches including it’s 360 circular cinema which gives an incredible historical overview of the days leading up to the landings. Next, you’ll venture off to Omaha Beach, the landing site of American troops on D-Day alongwith a handful of German bunkers which can still be visited to this day. Close to the beach, you’ll also stop at American Military Cemetary with its long rows of symmetrical white gravestones and the Wall of the Missing with over 1,500 names of soldiers.

Enjoy a half-day visit to the Louvre Museum. The most visited in the world, it’s also vast in size with countless treasures that include some of the most famous works of art on the planet with pieces that range from antiquity to the mid-19th century. Your private driver and guide will meet you at your hotel and escort you to the museum where, with your tickets in hand, you’ll be able to see many of the world’s most important art collections by yourselves at your own pace. During your visit you’ll also get the chance to explore Italian Renaissance paintings, including medieval artifacts and Egyptian relics as well as highlights such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the 2nd-century BC Venus de Milo, and Jacques-Louis David’s massive 1807 Coronation of Napoleon oil painting. At the end of your visit, you will rejoin your private driver and return to your hotel.

After exploring the classic sights in Paris and taking intriguing if somber look at the Normandy beaches, your trip comes to an end with your private driver picking you up at your hotel for transfer back to the airport.
