Owned by Stellantis, Fiat has now confirmed the arrival of the beloved electric vehicle (EV) on North American shores in 2024, with more details emerging about its 2024 variant. Bucking the trend of extensive talks about subscription models or car-sharing, Stellantis unveiled plans for the 500e to grace North American showrooms in the first quarter of 2024. And that's not all – it's making a grand entrance with a special Product Red model, a collaborative effort with the AIDS-fighting group co-founded by none other than U2's Bono.
In stark contrast to the Cyberbeast, the 2024 Fiat 500e is more like an invigorating espresso shot following Elon Musk's monumental Cybertruck event. Weighing in at a nimble 3,000 pounds, the Red edition boasts a 149-mile range and an enticing starting price of $32,500. This petite powerhouse stands in stark contrast to the Cyberbeast, a robust 6,843-pound Tesla pickup with an estimated 320-mile range and a price tag that soars to $99,990.
While the differences between these two electric vehicles are clear, Fiat's strategic move towards a smaller, environmentally conscious option deserves attention. The 500e's compact size and efficient range may seem unconventional in the vast North American car market, but there's a method to Fiat's minimalism. Smaller cars inherently demand less energy and fewer materials, making them a climate-friendly choice.
