Fresh off the press, SAE International has unwrapped the Technical Information Report (TIR) for the SAE J3400 NACS. The swift release of the J3400 TIR, a mere six months after SAE International committed to standardizing the Tesla-inspired NACS, is a testament to industry collaboration and the pressing need for a nationwide charging network.

Gabe Klein, Executive Director of the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, emphasizes the role of open and interoperable standards in shaping a reliable national charging network. Rodney McGee, Chairman of the SAE J3400 NACS Task Force, lauds the J3400's ability to foster interoperability for EV charging solutions, presenting a unified, compact connector for both AC and DC charging.
